Jane Fisher is a highly experienced Leadership and Change Consultant, Facilitator and Coach with a strong track record of helping leaders, teams and organisations lead with clarity, confidence and courage -particularly through times of uncertainty and challenge. Her career spans senior roles in education, local government and consultancy, with wide-ranging practise across public and private sectors.
Her expertise and delivery includes leadership excellence, organisational change and strategic development. She has held advisory roles at board level – most notably with a leading creative agency – and served as Vice Chair and Governor across several educational settings. Nationally, Jane contributed to the Maths for Girls campaign as a Steering Group member, championing aspiration and equity for young women.
An advocate of lifelong learning, Jane holds a BSc in Physiology, an MSc in Education Management, and the National Professional Qualification for Headship. She is a PRINCE2-accredited project manager, DiSC-certified coach, and an associate facilitator on national leadership programmes including the NHSE GP Improvement Programme. She maintains her own professional development, having completed Leadership Beyond Authority programmes with Common Purpose and is currently undertaking The NED Accelerator with NED-on-Board to further develop her impact at Board level.
Jane began her professional journey as an educator, later moving into curriculum and workforce development, leading nationally recognised programmes funded by the European Social Fund and Department for Education. She has held strategic executive roles in local authorities, driving education and skills strategies, building strong regional partnerships to raise standards and the opportunities for young people.
In 2013, Jane founded Jane Fisher Associates Ltd, supporting SMEs and public sector organisations to lead change and improvements with purpose. She has supported senior leaders in Primary Care – contributing to the NHS transformation agenda, whilst also designing and delivering leadership development programmes across multiple private and public sector organisations, including Higher Education.
Jane is also the Founder of Fresh Perspectives NE, a regional initiative advocating the use of the ‘outdoors’ to inspire business thinking, creativity and strategic clarity. She has written for the Institute of Directors and been interviewed by the FSB, promoting “Outside Thinking” as a way to redefining strategic leadership.
Known for her pragmatic challenge, strategic rigour and warm, energetic style, Jane helps leaders cut through complexity and lead with greater human impact. Based in Northumberland, Jane volunteers with the Northumberland National Park, reflecting her commitment to nature-connected leadership. She is also a vocal campaigner for women’s heart health, sharing her experience through BBC radio and television to raise awareness and support others.
